[NL] Stof tot Vorm is een fotografisch onderzoek naar abstractie binnen de gebouwde wereld. Vanuit architectuur isoleer ik gebouwen, constructies en details van hun oorspronkelijke functie, schaal en context. Door in te zoomen op lijnen, vlakken, ritme en structuur ontstaat een nieuwe visuele werkelijkheid waarin herkenning langzaam verschuift naar vervreemding.

Mijn werk beweegt zich op het snijvlak van fotografie en abstractie. Soms blijft de oorsprong van een beeld zichtbaar; soms lost deze volledig op in een grafisch spel van vormen en composities. Afzonderlijke foto’s functioneren daarbij niet alleen als autonome beelden, maar ook als bouwstenen voor nieuwe abstracte constructies.

Met Stof tot Vorm onderzoek ik hoe reductie kan leiden tot rust, focus en helderheid. In een wereld die voortdurend om aandacht vraagt, vormt abstractie voor mij een manier om complexiteit te vertragen en terug te brengen tot essentie. Door de werkelijkheid te vereenvoudigen ontstaat ruimte voor stilte, interpretatie en verbeelding.

De beelden nodigen de kijker uit om anders te kijken: niet naar wat een object is, maar naar wat het wordt wanneer functie verdwijnt en alleen vorm overblijft.

[ENG] Stof tot Vorm is a photographic exploration of abstraction within the built environment. Starting from everyday architecture, I isolate buildings, structures, and details from their original function, scale, and context. By focusing on lines, planes, rhythm, and structure, a new visual reality emerges in which recognition gradually shifts into alienation.

My work exists at the intersection of photography and abstraction. Sometimes the origin of an image remains visible; at other times it dissolves completely into a graphic interplay of forms and compositions. Individual photographs function not only as autonomous images, but also as building blocks for new abstract constructions.

With Stof tot Vorm I explore how reduction can lead to calm, focus, and clarity. In a world that constantly demands attention, abstraction becomes a way for me to slow down complexity and reduce reality to its essence. By simplifying the visual world, space is created for stillness, interpretation, and imagination.

The images invite the viewer to look differently: not at what an object is, but at what it becomes when function disappears and only form remains.
